Office space in 500 years.  Mike Judge gets no respect.
I went with fello whateves Ktlau last night to see this movie. It ruled, but as we left we realized some people might not like it. It was all low ball humor, but it was the ultimate high concept of low ball humor in our future. I don’t want to give anything away, but I think you should go see it in a theater. The films stars, Luke Wilson, Dax Shepherd, Mya Rudolf and the usual suspects of Mike Judge films.  I think FOX doesn’t want you to see it, cause I think there is legal issues, probably because the way they portray STARBUCKS and Fuddruckers in the future. There will be no one in the theater, cause no one knows it is out. Be sure to take a crew, and get ready to laugh at randomness. Or at least Rent it on DVD when it comes out, cause I think that is what they are really banking on for this film. For showtimes, click the poster.

update
NPR did an interesting story on this movie and its lack of support by fox.

Patricia Waller is an artist from Germany. She knits the coolest stuft animals around. I only wish that they were mass produced. This example above, would be a great gift for all those we know who have had bad bike accidents. She also has a thing for bunnies. Click the picture for more info on her collection.

Karolia Sobeka has created an animation that is tied to the speed of a car wheel using the Persistence of Vision concept. the image of wildlife such as a tiger is projected on to buildings of urban spaces. as the car moves the animation runs and as the car slows and stops so does the animation. its a pretty cool concept and looks pretty wild as the animal runs across buildings.

Madex Movie Review: The Illusionist.

Posted by madex in entertainment, movies, reviews, whateves on September 8th, 2006 @ 12:12 pm

There will be one new rule in film making: Never let Paul Giamatti eat on screen. EVER! In the film, The Illusionist, Directed by Neil Burger, not Neil Hamburger,(I only wish it was directed by hamburger, there would have been shit on Brittany Spears vagina jokes all over it.) We get a view of Vienna through a low budget lens and gaze upon a cast of well known actors who may or may not be in local Santa Monica’s children’s theater. Edward Norton uses his tricks to try and win back the love of his life. Jessica Biel I am pretty sure doesn’t know she is acting. Paul Giamatti is eating on screen and making me think twice about holding out for an all popcorn dinner with M&M’s tossed in. Rufus Sewell is the poor man’s Jude Law, yet, he was my favorite in the film, he was great to hate.

The movie has twists and turns the whole way through, then all the twists pay off in the end.(isn’t that every movie?) There are some magic things that happen, or should I say, “illusions”, that are never explained, but I guess that is the point. Norton and Biel have about as much on screen chemistry as my toaster and microwave sat next to each other on my dusty counter.

Truthfully, I thought I was going to see the Prestige, starring Christian Bale and Wolverine and Directed by kick ass Bat Man savior, Chris Nolan. So, I was a bit caught off guard. I didn’t know there were two magician movies out. I see everything that comes to the Vista Theater in Silver lake. Except TWIN TOWERS, I made an excuse not to see that.
I rate it: 2 Madex’s out of 5

Travolta is the new Divine.

The remake of Hairspray. Due out next year.

I do hate remakes and I really don’t like Tavolta, but for some reason I feel like I can’t wait to see this.

Queen is in it too.
