Idiocracy

Office space in 500 years.  Mike Judge gets no respect.
I went with fello whateves Ktlau last night to see this movie. It ruled, but as we left we realized some people might not like it. It was all low ball humor, but it was the ultimate high concept of low ball humor in our future. I don’t want to give anything away, but I think you should go see it in a theater. The films stars, Luke Wilson, Dax Shepherd, Mya Rudolf and the usual suspects of Mike Judge films.  I think FOX doesn’t want you to see it, cause I think there is legal issues, probably because the way they portray STARBUCKS and Fuddruckers in the future. There will be no one in the theater, cause no one knows it is out. Be sure to take a crew, and get ready to laugh at randomness. Or at least Rent it on DVD when it comes out, cause I think that is what they are really banking on for this film. For showtimes, click the poster.

update
NPR did an interesting story on this movie and its lack of support by fox.

yes its true this movie had a lot of awesomeness but the story did stretch thin at points. after a while it was the same gag over and over. however the gag was still funny none the less. i suggest seeing this move with me, mad ex and teddy that is a sure fire way to make sure you like it. screaming in an empty theater is always fun times.

the sad part about this movie is that it has been all but ignored, and makes me feel like we have allready reached that time in history.
Anyways I saw Matthew Perry outside the archlight and all these fags were like omg its Chandler but i was like what ever fags, and then he looked at me and I told that I didnt care with my eyes.

This movie was a warning shot
I left the theater, still laughing about the UN Unnaziing the world forever but super bummed. We are well on our way to this future. i have always loved Mike Judge and King of the Hill is one of the most socially relevant historical artifacts we have but this film was a love letter from mike judge to a people that he truly believes can avoid this future and we’d better fucking listen up.

yeah i also loved the movie, not because it was particularly funny (although it was), but because it scared the shit out of me. i felt like i had to go see it in the theater just to spite FOX for making it so hard to do so. it also made me see some of myself in the stupid people. awesome.

whatever happens though, i will keep on painting.

[...] Early reviews of the film are saying that the film has a strong message about consumerism in the future as humans abandon earth leaving robots to clean it up so that maybe one day humanity could return. Looks like this is along the same lines as Mike Judge’s film masterpiece Idoiocracy took on a dumb fat de-volved human population. [...]
