so as some of you may know i am looking at properties in the LA area. specifically silver lake and echo park. i am getting to that age where some of my friends are getting places and setting down roots. i figure now is as good a time as any and so i have been checking the market and been pretty depressed at what i can afford. but after reading this article about an old janitors closet in london that sold for $335,000 it made me think i didn’t have it so rough.

Even the estate agent selling the property admitted the flat was “incredibly depressing”

Long Gone John might be the most interesting person you could have the chance to met. I have heard a few “legendary” stories about this man, incase you didn’t know he has a documentary coming out. The film screens this weekend, along with an art show featuring some of his personal art he has collected over the years.

The film is called “The Treasure of Long Gone John” and was directed by Gregg Gibbs. Its open to the public and can be scene only 2 times on Saturday February 3rd, 6:00pm and 8:30pm at the CSUF Grand Central Art Center. Also showing that night is “Pictures of the Gone World”. This show is will be pieces from LGJ personal art collection and will include work by Camille Rose Garcia, Clayton Brothers, Yoshitoma Nara and Elizabeth McGrath just to name a few. This show will run from February 3rd to March 18th 2007.
