I was sent a link today that I thought was really amazing. Jarratt Moody a student from Savannah College of Art and Design did this a piece for his Time Based Typography class. The basic idea of the project is to take a piece of audio from wherever (movie, song, poetry reading, answering machine) and then represent that audio on screen using only typography.
So I have been Humming this song all week by Brazil’s CSS, I quite like it and I am sad I didn’t go see them when when they were in LA. But something tells me they might not be so great live. Anyway, I looked up this song and found glory, Check it out. click the pic for the video.

The Amgen Tour of California February 25, 2007
Long Beach plays host to The Amgen Tour of California this weekend (this would explain the bike art around Ocean Blvd). The Event will have over 120 of the worlds top cyclist, many of them compete in the Tour de France. We are the last leg of the 650 mile tour through California. Other host cities include San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Sacramento, San Jose, San Luis Obisbo, Santa Barbara and Santa Clarita. Once in the LBC the cyclist will have a 7-10 lap circuit race through the scenic, ocean front streets of Long Beach with a winner crowed on Feb. 25th. Oh yeah also there will be some extreme BMX and skateboarding (Mt. Dew Code Red not included).

I like that Little Miss Sunshine pulled all the way to get a Best Picture Nomination.
