Jesus Wood

A women from Lodi California was doing some mediating when she looked up and saw the face of Christ in a wooden fence.

No one noticed it until now,” said Emily West. “I’m a breast cancer survivor. I’ve been through a lot recently. I take this as a sign things will be ok from now on,”

One time I was eating beef jerky and I found a piece that looked like Patrick Duffy. I didn’t call the news, I didn’t think the universe was trying to tell me something… I ate it, I ate the beef Patrick Duffy and I would do it again!

wonderbread closing

Some of the best lunches I had as a kid include the time when my friends and I ate FREE ice cream sandwitches, the time when we (the punks) beat the jocks in Basketball and when Adam Martin threw a can of Aqua Net at Jim Medlens head on picture day b/c he made a mom joke. But all of them started with one thing… a Wonder Bread sandwich.

This generation will never be able to experience this (the sandwich that is). On Oct 20th the California Wonder Bread bakery will be closing indefinitely. Soon after that the rest of the operations will be closed, until Wonder Bread falls under the forgotten memory’s like: Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum, wax lips and Teddy Grahams.

Interstate (the owner of Wonder Bread) will continue to manufacture money-making products such as Hostess Twinkies and Dolly Madison snacks locally, but it will close 17 distribution centers and 16 outlet stores in the Southland.

Joy Division Film: Control

Posted by madex in entertainment, movies, music, whateves on August 28th, 2007 @ 12:02 pm

My favorite music video director of the past was Anton Corbijn. You know all the good videos of U2’s past and Depeche Mode’s video hay day?

He’s now resurfaced with the his new film; Control. A film about Joy Division and it’s complicated lead singer, Ian Curtis.

The film is being released in limited theaters Oct 10th.

Trailer

I can’t wait to see it, the parts I liked most about 24 hour party people were the interactions with Joy Division and Ian.

it’s not a secret, i love math and science. this girl takes it to a whole new level.

a grad student at usc and derby doll, she pretty much makes science a radder place to be.  so when you’re slacking off in the next five minutes as all whateves-ers do, take a moment to get your science on!

you won’t be sorry.

M83
So if you love M83 a lot (and well My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, etc) as I do you’re so happy about this new shite coming out. I pinched this from Pitchfork, I’m not going to lie. Also if anyone has the new Liars mp3s lets hook that up.

M83 main man Anthony Gonzalez will release the previously reported first volume of Digital Shades, his ongoing series of ambient records, in the U.S. on September 4 via Mute. Appropriately, the release will be a digital one.

The forthcoming proper album follow-up to Before the Dawn Heals Us is still in the works, with Gonzalez working with producers Ken Thomas (Sigur Rós, Suede, Cocteau Twins, the Sugarcubes) and Ewan Pearson (the Rapture, Ladytron). It is still tentatively scheduled for release in early 2008.
