Movie Review: Hairspray

Hairspray: Left, John Trovolta and Right, Nikki Blonsky
There are a few reason why I leave the movie reviews up to Madex. 1. I don’t watch movies that often. 2. When I do watch moves I’m always the last one to see it. Since Madex never finished his review of this movie I thought I would.
This weekend my wife and I were in Palm Springs, and what better way to beat the heat then in a movie. Here is the play by play: I walked up to the booth with my money in hand, “2 tickets for Hairspray” I eagerly asked. “Really?…. I thought you were going to ask for superbad” says the 900 year old Mexican lizard woman behind the glass.
We Find 2 perfect seats, movie starts and the magic begins. Let me repeat…. THE MAGIC BEGINS! Singing, dancing and comedy all over the screen. The songs were really good and they didn’t get annoying. I even found myself humming them as they were singing (only once)! However, I did laugh, jump and scream in my seat at all the jokes. I looked like I was an audience member at the Apollo.
If you get a chance you should see this movie, it’s fun and entertaining. It was like Grease meets High School Musical 2. Yes, I did watch and like High School Musical 2. I’m going to leave the official ratings up to Madex but I give it 4 out of 5.
