I think it speaks for itself, and those Mormons. It’s a shame I was busy watching Dungeons & Dragons on Saturday mornings as a kid, and not this…

Bible: Great Fiction & Racy Read?

bible

Sidney Brichto an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi has decided to modernize the bible by creating “The People’s Bible,” a translation that emphasizes an easy to read narrative structure.

Some of the changes his website highlights are…

- Getting rid of tiresome parts!
- A Modern but still dignified translation which read like epic adventures, love stories, poetry and thrillers!
- Attractively presented books of the bible can be read on the train etc. without embarrasment!
- Each volume fits into a pocket or handbag!
- An interactive bible - the traditional biblical narrative is so sparse that it leaves much to the imagination. Sidney has responded by interacting with the text to fill out the story, such elabarations are indicated by a bold print!

“I’m trying to get my translation put on the bookshops under classics, not in the religion section,” says Sidney.

Hip Hallelujah Hooray! A great new years gift for the whole family!

Rockin’ Mini Golf In Tha Valley!

I went and played Miniature Golf (or some say Put Put) this past weekend in the Valley at Castle Park in Sherman Oaks with my man Jamison and wanted to spread the word that this is the place to go! Three different courses with classic mini golf decor including mini haunted houses, windmills, waterfalls and more magical outdoor settings befitting the scene!

There’s also a kick ass Arcade with a Deal or No Deal game, Skee Ball, Air Hockey and more old school games! Collect tickets and get prizes…we got a helicopter toy that broke on the first try and some other fun useless crap. There’s a cafe with greasy pizza, nachos and ‘where’s the beef’ burgers for eating. Plus a batting cage for workin out your aggressions! Their open late too! This is so worth the trip to the valley.

dandy

The Chicago Sun Times recently reported that the United States ban on absinthe has been lifted.  Absinthe is a (very) strong alcoholic beverage that is legendary for being the chosen drink of late 1800’s/early 1900’s poets, painters and writers like Oscar Wilde (pictured), Arthur Rimbaud, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, Aleister Crowley and Vincent Van Gogh (who allegedly cut off his ear while drunk on the “Green Fairy”).  Absinthe was thought of to cause hallucinations and eventually madness because of its key ingredient, wormwood.

So here’s the question:  now that it’s legal, will it still taste as good?
