An anonymous anarchist group has been on the rise, they first started by targeting 7 football stadiums with radiological dirty bombs. The warning was posted Oct. 12, it was part of an ongoing Internet conversation titled “New Attack on America Be Afraid.”. Now they’ve been battling The Church of Scientology by hacking their systems and breaking down all of there websites, there is a website which host a list of all the major Scientology pages they’ve targeted in the last 10 days.

I was first introduced to this group when a coworker sent me this video on youtube titled salmon oil for heart health which has this dream sequence narrated by a god-like Stephen Hawking and he goes on about the persecution of the Scientology followers and how it’s the church of stress. The Anonymous hackers refer to themselves as a legion, to never forgive and never forget. They will hack your Myspace page and plaster it with gay sex photos until your girlfriend breaks up with you and if you fight back, they will leave death threats on your phone til you die. if you don’t die, they will make a shit sandwich outta your laptop… they are the internets hate machine. they are Anonymous.

Anonymous is like Project Mayhem in Fight Club but you don’t have to seam a dress to join, you just have to battle Scientologist through the internets and corrupt their LULZ(LOL). All your base are belong to us!

Celebrity Rehab is by far the most gripping show on TV this year. Dr. Drew has de-constructed the VH1 celebreality bullshit, and sits down with these out of control F list celebrities to tackle the mess that is going on in their lives. This is where Tila Tequilla will end up, Andy Dick, Lindsay Lohan, Britney and Amy Winehouse won’t make it cause they’ll already be dead. Sorta makes you wonder if something like this would have saved Anna Nichole. This show isn’t flashy, it isn’t about peeing on the floor and who sleeps with who, it is about the tragic hold chemicals can have on everyone, and this show I hope will scare a lot of people into looking into themselves to make a change.

The cast of people run the range from alcoholics to full on heroin addiction to full on fuck tards who put their unconscious girlfriend in the driver seat after a DUI accident, and laughs about it.

Last weekend patBenatard and I spent all Saturday with Slowgun and Carol. We happened to go on a low scale shopping spree to a fuck load of stores in ORANGE California. The Antique Mall is where I purchased a VHS titled, “EXPLODING VARMINTS Vol. ”

Where from the cover looked like hundreds of field Varmints exploding into dust when hunted with an elephant gun. We then got so excited about this, Slowgun had to see this 3 dollar VHS I got, that he set out to buy a VHS player. He also remember he had a whole collection of a dead guy’s porn that he had been dying to see. Let me tell you, Misty Beethoven -The Musical, was awesome, A penis sang much like the Alien from Space Balls. Target was too much, so he made us go to WAL*MART. I do like to people watch, so I agreed to go with him. The trash we saw exiting the Orange WAL*MART was good, but as soon as I stepped inside I unbuttoned my shit all the way down exposing my bare chest, and no one even batted an eye lash, I fit right in. Anyway, the abyss of crap inside was depressing, and gross, you just picture people who work there passing you a waded up piece of paper with scribblings asking you to kill them. Ryan bought a DVD/VHS player at im sure a slash throat price and we made pizza, watched Varmints expolde and a Penis sing. All and all a great day. And, I guess sounds deserved that we shopped at Wal*Mart.
But being in Wal*Mart was weird, I know not to go there, so I never do, but the shock of going into one was intense. Which brings me to what I was going to post about in the first place. WAL*MART was caught by the U.S. Government for selling Nazi T-Shirts a few months back, and according to the consumerist, and they are still selling them in some locations.

62 weeks later they are still on the rack.

This story doesn’t suprise me a bit, seems like just the place to pick something like that up for a cheap price.

Part of living in Los Angeles is becoming so jaded and cynical that you don’t even like music anymore (this is also a part of growing up but I would never want to admit that I’m doing any such thing). The concept of listening to new music just turns you off when you can just cocoon yourself in records from your youth, back when music was GOOD. Hey, we’re all guilty of this.

Well, with “Music Is Still Good!” I hope to prove the above-mentioned notions wrong. Yeah, I hate music review blogs. The thought of some pseudo-hipster record geek with a bad asymmetrical haircut sharing their personal opinions is fucking gross. Well, that’s what I’m going to do now. For your sake, I hope you don’t read it.

In spite of all that, for your sake, I hope you check out the records that I recommend. Restore your faith in music, discover your youth again and remember what made you fall in love with music in the first place!  Music should be passionate and magical like unicorns and fairies. But these days, it’s tough to spot that passion and magic. This is my quest to prove, to the world AND to myself, that today’s music still has it. These are the records that did it for me. Hopefully they will do it for you too.

This week: MGMT.

This NYC duo, formally known as The Management, recently got signed to Columbia Records and just released the debut album “Oracular Spectacular.” They’ve polished up a lot of the tracks from their DIY demo tapes but the content remains some of the best artsy psychedelic dream-funk you will ever hear. Imagine the best local art house film you’ve ever seen translated into big guitars and synth with vocals echoing and reverberating through your mind. They did. And that’s what they recorded. Check out the song “Electric Feel” which is possibly one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s trippy and sexy and catchy as shit. It’s like Prince as a hipster art fag in a Basquiat-era Lower East Side loft. The rest of the album shares the same type of attitude and not without a refreshing (read: not too cliché) sense of humor and a tasteful (read: not too pretentious) level of class. Personally, I don’t expect MGMT to go very far beyond this album. I predict they’ll hit that sophomore jinx and get shelved by their label. But “Oracular Spectacular” is deifnitely a solid album full of creative songs and sounds.

I have been seeing some seriously great shit recently, and I just have to start sharing it with you all. Since I don’t work, I go to the gym during the day because it is free. The LA fitness is in Hollywood is by far the nicest gym in Los Angeles, It puts all 24 hour locations to shame in cleanliness and layout oh and excellent people (wacko) watching.

1. Man brings his 8 pushing 14 year old daughter into the mens locker room, where there were tons of naked dudes walking around. I heard a female voice so I looked over and made eye contact with this young woman, every dude in there was trying to hide from her stares. Why the fuck would a father bring in a girl who was over the age of 1 month old into a locker room full of naked dudes? They have a day care area for shit sake.

2. While completing my 100 lap swim, I happen to look over at the co-ed hot tub area to find an asian man eating sushi in it alone. When I said this place was clean, I meant it, so help me god he had a napkin with in reach.

3. Yesterday while swimming, I shared a lane with Dee Snider of TWISTED SISTER, the whole time swimming I sang, “don’t you hear no evil, don’t you speak no evil, dun dun dun… something, something, YOU’RE GUNNA BURN IN HELL”. I didn’t talk to him, I don’t really like talking to anyone at the gym, but I can tell you, Dee isn’t a good swimmer, he forgot to put his eye goggles on a few times, he dove in when it was only 3 feet deep and he really had HUGE FEET.

4. CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW - The homeless dude who came to hollywood to “make it” and dresses as Johnny Depp out on hollywood blvd.Taking pictures for cash, he has figured out a way to keep his stuff in a locker at the LA fitness and take a shower, dry sauna and hot tub, and then put his costume back on. I’ve seen him over 4 times now, so I pretty much know the routine, but it is terrifying seeing someone in a locker room naked with the jack sparrow make up on.

This morning I put on my Super Sounds of the 70’s playlist to start the morning off in a mellow way. “This is It” by Kenny Loggins came on and I was reminded of how great some of the music from this era is. If you ONLY know his regrettable Footloose album, or even worse, “Danger Zone” from Top Gun, you’re missing out. I defy anyone to not listen to This is It and not be inspired to take on the day, full force, and then act out some movie montage, complete with working out, getting dressed up, and just being awesome. Besides, Kenny Loggins & Michael McDonald singing the chrous = pure gold.
