LA Bike to work Week May 12th-16th. But you can do it in any city.
| May 12, 2008 | to | May 16, 2008 |

I already ride my bike to work, and I enjoy it, I actually get to work faster and other people on bikes wave to you and say hi, that never happens in cars. In cars all you get is honking and middle fingers. Try it, take a week and ride your bike, if its possible.
There are some metro events taking place as well. link

I stopped driving my car about 3 months ago. I now just ride my bike to work. Two days ago my bike broke. The metal part where the petal sits in, striped and broke.
I ended up coasting to a car mechanic on 4th here in Long Beach. I asked the mechanic if he could help tighten the bolt. He said no. I was shocked, so I asked him again.. still no. I told him I would hire him if he could help me, he replied with “why don’t you get a car” We exchanged a few choice words and then I was on my way.
I pushed my bike down the street and stopped in front of the Pike and asked a fellow biker for help. He was more then willing to help out and pulled out a wrench and sockets from his bag. Where am I going with all of this? What you said above Madex is the truth people in cars don’t care about bikers and people that fix cars HATE bikers.
I bike to work as well. I don’t get waves. I mostly narrowly miss getting hit by cars. Today a homeless man yelled “bitch” at me repeatedly. Glendale is not a candy land of high 5’s.
I got on my bike to ride to work, got a quarter of the way there, and it started Pouring on me, I turned around and had to go home and change my clothes and drive into work. I think Shell gas owns the weather.
