I just learned about this and thought it is worth passing on. If you’re on a computer, you’ve likely used mapquest, google maps, or yahoo maps to get directions at some point. None of these systems have available bike route maps…. yet.

There is a site called http://www.bikemetro.com/ that has a bike routing feature for OC and LA counties. It’s limited the area covered and isn’t 100% reliable (It’s been down several times over the past few months).

There’s a petition to add a “bike there” feature to google maps, being headed up by a group in Austin, Texas.
http://googlemapsbikethere.org/

You can sign their petition, asking Google to add the bike-specific features, at:

http://www.petitiononline.com/bikether/petition.html

There really is no picture for this post but I know how it’s cool to look at shit so here’s one…

I’ve been to bike in a tree.
Gabe and Thea Lebeouf teach classes about Bike in a tree on Vashion Island in Washington state. Sadly I missed my history lesson about bike in a tree and didn’t know it existed till I saw it with my own eyes, they made fun of me forever, sucks being gullible. Then I got poison sumac and for 2 weeks I itched like none other.
