ESPN Releases Euro 2008 Schedule

euro 2008

My DVR will be working overtime next month thanks to the just recently announced Euro 2008 Soccer schedule. If you don’t have cable and want to watch the games then you HAVE to stream them from ESPN360.com. The games look really good streaming in on a broadband connection. This is how I follow the game mid week at work.

The 2 characters above… not to sure how I feel about them yet. They kinda remind me of the Dr Susis characters.
Anyone want to make a prediction on who will win? I’m going with a Italia vs Deutschland final…. Veni, vedi, vici

Full schedule after the jump.

R.I.P. BARBARELLA’S ANGEL DEAD AT 70!

Posted by therealsimon in whateves on May 15th, 2008 @ 2:42 pm

John Phillip Law who played Pygar, the hot angel in ‘Barbarella,’ is dead at 70

Law has been acting since he was a child but his most memorable role to me and many others is as the smoking hot angel in the loin cloth in Barbarella.

When I was a kid my Mom instructed my babysitter one night to let me watch Barbarella on pay per view because she thought I would really dig it. We watched it and I was entranced while my babysitter was confused as to why my Mom would want me to watch such crap. To me it was pure visual kitsch of the highest degree and there was something mystical about Pygar and what layed underneath his loincloth and the 9 year old me was very intrigued about the bronzed, blind and packin’ Pygar. Also one can never forget Barbarella saying to Pygar while laying half naked in his nest, “oh Pygar…oh it was just, it was just heavenly.” (view clip)

Some tidbits on Law
- He was a frequent & favored guest at the Playboy Mansion in the 70s & 80s.
- He starred in two movies which were featured on the show Mystery Science Theater 3000: Diabolik and Space Mutiny.

The cause of death was not announced.

His tombstone should have only one thing on it…a quote from Pygar,
“An angel doesn’t make love; an angel is love.”

Mario Kart – WAN Party

mario kart

I’m pretty new to Wii and I just bought Mario Kart last week. I can’t stop playing. Its pretty fun. Last night I connected to Madex and met PatBenatard in a room. We raced then played Balloon Battle (above pic). It was awesome, I hope you guys were shouting and having as much fun as I did.

This got me thinking. Would anyone be into meeting up at a selected day and time in a whateves.com room and play? This invite would be open for anyone thats interested. I guess we need to become friends on Wii? Like I said above I’m pretty new to Wii so I don’t know the details.

Anyone know if this is possible?

Bug Crusher bike ride…

Posted by Robonaut in whateves on May 15th, 2008 @ 10:46 am

I know this place is full of mountain Bikers so I thought I would put up a quick post. I like to take a small group of riders through the trails here in south OC. It’s good times, not the coolest of times, but good. Please feel free to join in. :)

Weekly ride in Aliso. We start at the main lot around 5:30 and hit the base of Cholla at 6pm. So you can start at either place. The usual route is up Cholla, down Rock-it, through Coyote, up Dripping cave, down Dripping cave, then back to the main lot. Usually 3 or 4 riders. We’re probably all open to changing the route based on who wants to ride what. This ride is open to all skill levels. If you lag we can meet up back at some point, if you’re a hot doger same thing. (That’s right “hot doger” haha)

Because I know Whateves loves cupcakes.

The ten best cupcake bakeries are squaring off for the annual LA Cupcake Challenge. They bake and bring the mini-cupcakes; you get to be the judge. This means you can consume as many cupcakes as your heart desires. And you also get to cleanse your palate with over a dozen wines between cupcakes.

Wine and cupcakes. Who doesn’t like that?

I already ride my bike to work, and I enjoy it, I actually get to work faster and other people on bikes wave to you and say hi, that never happens in cars. In cars all you get is honking and middle fingers. Try it, take a week and ride your bike, if its possible.

There are some metro events taking place as well. link
