San Pedro Punk House Documentary
I found this San Pedro House Documentary from a friends blog… though it would be an interesting contrast to my last post about San Pedro. This documentary reminds me of the Pickle Patch in Santa Barbara. Bands come through, crash, party then they are on to the next town.

HHmmm, I don’t know, these kids look kind of poor. Nothing is LESS entertaining to me than poor drunk kids. Sorry, I have to go call my dad now to make sure he takes care of my mortgage payment this month.
Yeah, RUDE. comment.
Nothing wrong with poor punks kids, they have more substance then most people.
Someone I knew way back wrote a
good script about the punk kids in San Pedro.
I hope it gets made one day.
I think you’re missing the point. It’s not that they are poor its that they don’t care. They are NOT upset that the floor is dirty or that they have bugs, the point is they are content with who they are, what they are doing and they choose to spend their time promoting DIY music, skateboarding, hanging out… and self indulgent’s such as drinking and drugs.
Not everything created has to be a form of entertainment. This is a look into a different lifestyle then yours, so take it for what its worth and move on. Also, if anyone wants to see a cool documentary on punk kids check out The Decline of Western Civilization. Its a look into a different way of thinking and how punk youth choose to live their lives.
So I found a few links for The Decline of Western Civilization:

“Not everything created has to be a form of entertainment.”
what the hell does that even mean?
also, don’t be bootlegging decline, you’ll call down the wrath of pea-nah-lope.
also, i hate punk. same shit over and over. but i do love drunks, and i do love poor folks, being a founding member of poorcore myself. have a new unoriginal 7 inch of you yowling over some bad ramones riff? no thank you. inspirational story about filling your cavity with super glue? you’re my new best friend and you deserve an advice column.
to reiterate:
punk is boring
poor is good
and long live the south bay (big up Lomita!)
