Antelope Horns In The City

antelope horn

Yesterday while walking on 1st. and Linden st. in Downtown Long Beach a guy was standing on the corner playing an Antelope horn. He was just standing there looking at the sky and blowing it. He looked like he was trying to summons the gods to change the weather or maybe he was calling for help to his animal friends. Either way he was not playing anything in tune nor did it resemble anything close to music.

I bet this guy thinks he is really good but has no idea what he really sounds like kinda like how people are surprised when they hear their voice on an answer machine. I then turned to my friend Chris and said, I bet this guy shows up on one of thoughts shows showcasing his talent in-front of David Hasslehoff.

Either way it was the most random thing I have seen in Downtown L.B.

los angeles freeway

We are in our last few hours of freedom while driving in Los Angeles. Starting tomorrow if you don’t have your “hands free” device while driving and on the phone L.A.P.D. will give you a ticket.

I’m still using my ear piece that came with my iPhone, so I’m covered… but the rest of you had 22 months to prepare! I did go to the apple store and pick up a bluetooth ear piece for my wife… they only had one left in stock!

Don’t be the first one to get caught with out one!

Biri Biri Kaze Hiki Wanko aka Shocking Sick Puppy!

Posted by therealsimon in whateves on June 30th, 2008 @ 1:00 pm

Bandsai subsidiary Mega House has announced the August arrival of ‘Biri Biri Kaze Hiki Wanko’ which roughly translates too ‘Shocking Sick Puppy!’ This could easily be the greatest game ever created!

The Toy puppy, who has caught a cold, drools a concoction of slime and plastic germs. Players must extract these germs using the tweezers without letting the metal part touch the slime, an act which produces a buzzing shock. The player who collects the most germs wins. Play continues by loading the mess into a compartment in the dog’s head. This is like Operation but grosser and oh so so so much better.

I collect weird games and I think this one will beat out my current fave Gooey Louie where you have to pick boogers from Louie’s nose without making his brains pop. I need this ‘Sick Dog With Rabies’ game. I need it bad. I will have this ‘Kujo: The Game’ in my possession come August time!

Madex Movie Review: Wall-E

walle_20080626112252.jpg

By far the best picture of 2008, or even all of the 2000’s.

A landmark in film making, a true romantic space journey.

Charlie Chaplin in Johnny 5’s costume.

A must see, a must Own, a must for all to experience.

Pixar is on another level of entertainment.

500 Madex’s out of 5

Sidenote: Mike Judge should have gotten a screen credit for paving the way with Idiocracy.

Bumps, Our Dreams Have Come True

This is all I have ever wanted. Hot, damaged goods.

The mouse house has lost its creative edge.

I was thinking today about how stoked I am to go see Wall-E tonight, but can’t really think of the last time I was really excited to see a Disney Movie. True Pixar is a cut above, but Disney used to inspire and at the very least you knew you were getting something creative. The Mickey Mouse cartoons of the past had substance, story, adventure, education or something to grab onto. In the nineties they had duck tales, Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears. Sure those were all shopped out China based animations done in a sweat shop somewhere, but it still at least was captivating enough and had a solid story plot. This rant comes from this,

Sure they sing about hot dogs and minnie mouse looks like she got her dancing lessons from Kelly Bumps, but its totally lame and there is no imagination or creativity in this whole thing. I always thought it would be cool if they started using the OG Disney Character more, but if its going to be shlock shit like this, they should stop.

So You Think You Can (host a) Dance (show)

One of my favorite television shows is; So You Think You Can Dance. I’ve watched it from the first season. For the same reason I like Project Runway, I like to see the creative process. Never a fan of American Idol, that is more like karaoke.  But, when it comes to the host, Cat Deeley, I have a huge problem. Besides her serial fashion mishaps her face makes me fast forward. I don’t get her appeal. Psmynameisphil thinks she is hot, but I beg to differ. She is just a mess. I don’t know why I am taking the time to write about how her face looks like Ms Potato head with all the wrong parts, but I had to say something.
