The mouse house has lost its creative edge.

I was thinking today about how stoked I am to go see Wall-E tonight, but can’t really think of the last time I was really excited to see a Disney Movie. True Pixar is a cut above, but Disney used to inspire and at the very least you knew you were getting something creative. The Mickey Mouse cartoons of the past had substance, story, adventure, education or something to grab onto. In the nineties they had duck tales, Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears. Sure those were all shopped out China based animations done in a sweat shop somewhere, but it still at least was captivating enough and had a solid story plot. This rant comes from this,

Sure they sing about hot dogs and minnie mouse looks like she got her dancing lessons from Kelly Bumps, but its totally lame and there is no imagination or creativity in this whole thing. I always thought it would be cool if they started using the OG Disney Character more, but if its going to be shlock shit like this, they should stop.

My daughter used to watch this drivel. She got bored with it about 3 months ago, once she started seeing the same episodes over and over. I too am appalled that the beloved Disney characters are getting whored out like this. The animation is SO bad, and even if it is for little kids, it has zero imagination to it. Now she watches Little Einsteins, which is a pretty decent show, and mixes in art and culture with the nonsensical animation and storylines.
