Eat In A Replica of The Titanic!

Driving down Western this past Saturday I happened to look over to my left and see a giant boat in a parking lot…a boat you could eat in called Cafe Jack’s! So I picked up my new peep Cody and we bolted to this magnificent boat in Koreatown! We quickly discovered that Cafe Jack’s is a tribute to the movie the Titanic, there were pics of DiCaprio & Winslet from the movie everywhere and the place is named after Leonardo’s character. So revolting but yet so endearing.

The boat the restaurant lives in is a 100-foot-long model of the Titanic. The Cafe also seems to be a tribute to Valentines Day and Xmas with heart shaped pillows at every table and hanging from the walls that say ‘I Love You’ and lighted Candy Canes and Santa Clauses hanging throughout. Brilliant! The menu consists of two pages of sushi and Korean food items and 12 pages of non-alcoholic drinks (so bring your mini bottles!). The food servings are huge and fattening and their ice cream dessert is served in a clam shell with weird gummy fruit bits in it. They also play the most amazing Korean pop music and apparently have bands perform.

I did a little research afterwards and discovered that the owner has seen the movie Titanic over 100 times and the place took over a year to build using only two construction workers. I also learned that the coffee culture is huge in Korea where there are hundreds of Starbucks and themed Coffee Cafe’s. Koreatown also boasts many crazy coffee cafe’s including Coffee House Heyri on Hobart Avenue which looks like a modern Buddhist Temple inside and took over two years and over a million dollars to build. Who knew?

I loved dining in a boat tribute to a movie I never want to see again. Click below for more pics from the experience!!
