Basil Wolverton: The graphic Bible.

Posted by in art on February 3rd, 2009 @ 5:09 pm

Graphic cartoonist Basil Wolverton,  wrote and illustrated short stories of the Old Testament. The work was commissioned by the church in 1953 through 1974.  Now you can own this work inspired by the Book of Revelations and includes cartoons and funny illustrations for Church publications.

Wolverton is known for grotesque odd creatures. Growing up a Christian kid would have been a lot cooler with this on the coffee table. More photos after the jump.
