I made you a sweet mux

Posted by beard in whateves on July 13th, 2008 @ 2:43 pm

Yes, mixtapes were the best thing ever to give to somebody. I have given and received countless little treasures, and I always felt that mix cds just didn’t't have the same charisma.

The next logical technological advancement of the mix format is to put that shit on the web. Welcome to Muxtape.com.

To design your mix, simply upload mp3s from your computer in the correct order. You can only have one mux up at a time, but what makes this site so special is sifting through the random array of mixes that folks put up. I have found countless new bands and look forward to getting back to the states so I can put up my European Trip Mux!

So go mux it up whateves!

And now you know…

why amusement parks are so expensive.

It’s because the water they use for all of their aquatic rides, the very stuff that forms the nightmares of Bumps, has to be imported all the way from the canals of Venezia, Italy.

Compare this to this and I think you get the picture.

Yesterday I passed by two fat American women and overheard this conversation, “You want to go down and just dip your foot in?” to which the other woman replied “Yeah I just want to see what it’s like”.

It’s like the holocaust lady, that’s why it’s a hundred degrees outside, there are about four million people in this city, and not one of them is stupid enough to go anywhere near those canals for refreshment.

I asked my friend what kind of fish can be found in the canal to which he replied “I don’t think they have fish, only rats”.

Never has the promise of “monkey chases” been so horribly disappointing as it is in this video tour of Casa Bonita.

Who wants to make a trip to Denver?

Here are some hilarious, and some really cool designs for Star Wars products that never got developed. I would have loved to have a mounted Wampa head trophy.

the aptera will cost about 27,000 – 30,000, is considered a 3 wheel enclosed motorcycle which means you do not need a helmet, or a motorcycle license AND you can drive it in the HOV lanes. these will only be sold in California, which makes me stoked.

there will be an all electric model and a hybrid model and you can see a video here

 or visit their website here

VH1 still plays videos

Posted by beard in whateves on October 23rd, 2007 @ 12:16 am

the show “nocturnal state” plays new videos late at night. i have actually
found a few “new” (to me) bands through this show, but it’s nice just to have on while i do homework. listen to music, and occasionally catch a video that is somewhat creative or interesting

tonight they played the new chemical brothers video “the salmon dance”. the song is balls, but the video was fun to watch.

my beef with the show is that they seem to prepare one show a week and then show it over and over, so you see the same videos played in the same order.

and really, do i need to see coldplay videos next to kid rock videos? no. but i digress…

boys on wheels

This Norwegian “boy” band comprised of handi-capable folks does a montage of 80’s songs where they replace the words to better represent their disabilities. But i’m not really sure how that translates into singing about how you might be crippled, but “at least I’m not gay”.
 View the video here…
Whatever, sound off your opinion. One of the reviews I read had this to say:

“I vote painful. There are funny moments, but it’s not really my sense of humor.

I might feel differently if I were Norwegian and had cerebral palsy.”

While I love the idea of people thinking that they have to be Norwegian AND have cerebral palsy to laugh at this, I think I will have to wait for heaven for such an occurrence.

LARPING MFAO

Posted by beard in entertainment, to do, whateves on October 4th, 2007 @ 11:19 pm

I spent last weekend re-enacting a 19th century land survey camp in Old Town San Diego, and this weekend I will be camping out at Calico Mining Days Festival at Calico Ghost Town. There will be a dance, a steak cookoff, a bbq cookoff, a parad, a greased pole climbing contest and a beard and moustache competition.

My campsite holds 6, and I am going solo. So if you want to come and LARP with me, call me.
