Whateves Mario Kart night?

Posted by Robonaut in whateves on December 3rd, 2008 @ 2:01 pm

So I know I’m a little late to the party but I’m coming in strong with my new Mii. I named him Gorgoroth after his favorite Black Metal band. As you can see from the pictures he’s pretty pissed off about things so I would just stay out of his way. His favorite maps are Grumble Volcano, and Bowser’s Castle(duh). He also likes Moo Moo Meadows, as you can see from the pictures. Lets race soon.

Whereves OC Bug Crusher ride…Tomorrow night!!

Posted by Robonaut in whateves on May 19th, 2008 @ 12:37 pm

Weekly ride in Aliso. We start at the main lot around 5:30 and hit the base of Cholla at 6pm. So you can start at either place. The usual route is up Cholla, down Rock-it, through Coyote, up Dripping cave, down Dripping cave, then back to the main lot. Usually 3 or 4 riders. We’re probably all open to changing the route based on who wants to ride what. This ride is open to all skill levels. If you lag we can meet up back at some point, if you’re a hot doger same thing. (That’s right “hot doger” haha)

flat advice to Whereves riders…

Posted by Robonaut in whateves on May 16th, 2008 @ 2:53 pm

I was bummed to hear about Klau getting a flat and having to take the bus home. Here are some tips to help all Whereves riders:

So here’s the thing with flats, you can fix them in under 1 min with a little practice. You just need the tools and a new tube.

1st you need to carry a few things with you. It’s cool, you have a messenger bag anyway. If not get one of these. These are $10 at REI and hold everything you’ll need for a quick tire change. They tuck into your drink cage and you’re good to go. Dont’ have a drink cage? Get one dummy.

2nd here is a quick list of what to put in your new cage rocket:

-spare tube ($3.00 at Performance)

- Tire tools

First take your wheel off. You should have a quick release on there but if you have some old vintage fixie you’ll have to figure out what box end wrench to take with you on rides. It’s ok, that’s going to fit in your pack too. When your wheel is off you wedge one end of these under the tire and hook the hook end onto one spoke. That will hold it in place while you wedge the other tool in and peal off the tire. Try it a few times. It’s easy.

once one side of your tire is off put a little air in the new tube and replace the flat tube. Then pop the tire back on over it. Make sure there are no bumps or that you don’t pinch the tube. Work it around a little Indian Burn style. There you got it.

Now you’re going to need some air in that tire. We all know pumps are great for penises but save your self some time on the road and get a C02 inflater. They are cheap, and one cartridge will pump up two road tires. You can even get one of these sweet ones with a multi tool on it. Multi toolls are great for tightening your shit if it loosens up on a ride.

So pack all your junk in your cage rocket, maybe throw in your cell phone and a condom. You’ll figure it out.

Bug Crusher bike ride…

I know this place is full of mountain Bikers so I thought I would put up a quick post. I like to take a small group of riders through the trails here in south OC. It’s good times, not the coolest of times, but good. Please feel free to join in. :)

Snorg Tees?

Posted by Robonaut in whateves on May 12th, 2008 @ 2:41 pm

We all know how much Beard wants to punch the Snorg chick, but have you seen how shitty the rest of their stuff is? “I’ll be Bach”? Jesus. Who designs these? 3rd graders?

I just learned about this and thought it is worth passing on. If you’re on a computer, you’ve likely used mapquest, google maps, or yahoo maps to get directions at some point. None of these systems have available bike route maps…. yet.

There is a site called http://www.bikemetro.com/ that has a bike routing feature for OC and LA counties. It’s limited the area covered and isn’t 100% reliable (It’s been down several times over the past few months).

There’s a petition to add a “bike there” feature to google maps, being headed up by a group in Austin, Texas.
http://googlemapsbikethere.org/

You can sign their petition, asking Google to add the bike-specific features, at:

There really is no picture for this post but I know how it’s cool to look at shit so here’s one…

gamecube…late to the party.

Posted by Robonaut in whateves on March 18th, 2008 @ 10:20 am

Ok, so I got a game cube. Why? Well they are $29 at Gamestop. Also, Mario Kart. I know it’s the lamest ever but people at work were playing the N64 version and I found out there was a newer version. Plus, whatever Wii. Like I have time to wait at the store and see if you’re going to be for sale that day. Sure the new Mario Galaxy is amazing, but still. Also, I’m not fat but I don’t want a system that is that interactive. If I want to stand up and bowl I’ll go to the bowling alley where I can get nachos. I want an ergonomic controller. I don’t want to buy a different controller for each game. The power glover didn’t take off. Stop trying to push that shit back on people. I want to sit in my chair and have a beer and move YOU around. I’m tired. I worked all day trying to earn enough money to pay for this overpriced party game.

So can anyone suggest some sweet Gamecube games? Thanks.

Side note: My birthday is in june and I want to have a “late to the party” party. It’s a costume party where you wear stuff that went out a year or two ago. Think about how funny that would be. Trucker hats? PBR? Fixies? I know, right?

also: found this when searching “Do the Mario”

British teacher sentenced to 15 days in Sudan jail

You’re fucking kidding me.
Look, you might think Bush is a shit head. You might think America is a nation of ignorant fat people that either don’t give a shit or just do whatever makes the most money but at least there isn’t this. It’s like a nation of 6th graders. Enjoy.

My favorite quote for the article: The Foreign Secretary said that he had reaffirmed to the Ambassador “that the British Government fully respects the faith of Islam and Britain has a long-standing tradition of religious tolerance”.

How can you be tolerant of a people with no tolerance?

Daft…

I want to hate this but it comes with three things I love, hot chicks, robots, and Daft Punk.

That’s just good. (safe for work, mostly)
