Madex’s Guerrilla Drive In surfaces in the pages of RIDE BMX.

Posted by madex in madex's Guerrilla Drive In on August 1st, 2008 @ 12:37 pm

Unannounced to me Guerrilla Drive In showed up in September’s RIDE BMX Magazine. Which is cool, cause its at least a BMX bike mag, and they came out for RAD. They give Whateves.com a shout out. Good thing we’re changing locations, cause they posted that too. Oops. Check out the Centerfold.

Thanks Jordon for giving me the heads up.

Last night’s Double Feature of Cool as Ice and Point Break was really fun.
This month people vote on the films they want to see.
I’ll keep the voting up a week, before I announce what the films will be.
July is going to be a double feature as well, so the top 2 films will be showcased.

I’m going to pump up the experience to a Double Feature for Summer. It should be awesome.

Sunday June 15th, 8pm we will meet at 2nd and Beaudry in Downtown Los Angeles and watch these glorious films.
I have never seen Cool as Ice but I can’t wait to see it with a group, looks like plenty ready for heckles and following will be Point Break, nothing needs to be said about Point Break.

Carpooling and Bike crews are encouraged. Please have an FM radio to hear the film. See you there.

If you haven’t yet, add the myspace page for updates and pictures from the past screenings.

always free, always fun, keep it underground

Films were picked by Jules and Kevin.

Last night was a great turn out for RAD. Bike kids came in from all over, one dude road up from Anaheim on his bike.

People carpooled and  layed out in the back of trucks and seemed to have a blast.

The sad part was our favorite Taco cart was missing last night, The taco stands are going to be missed in Los Angeles.

Madex’s Guerrilla Drive In: Parking Lot Full of Fast and Furious Cars

Posted by madex in madex's Guerrilla Drive In, whateves on April 16th, 2008 @ 10:05 am

fastandfurious.jpg

Its worth pointing out that the parking lot that Guerrilla Drive In invades monthly is being used to hold the cars from the fast and furious movie being filmed in Downtown. I say fast and furious because its the only car movie being made in the city right now and these rice rockets aren’t in too many other film franchises. I ride my bike by it daily, none of the set security will tell me how long they will be there, but they have been there over a week already. If they are still there this weekend, we’ll have to re-locate so be sure to check before coming out Sunday night.

Its worth stating that 2 fast 2 furious is the greatest work from director John Singleton;s career to date.

9pm at 2nd and Beaudry in downtown Los Angeles. Bring your friends and family.
Apparently there are some biters to the downtown drive in movie scene, and it isn’t so guerrilla its very organized actually, you have to pay $$$. Whats the fun in that? But, its still pretty cool to see people getting involved.
In this video Metromix gives Madex’s Guerrilla Drive In a nice nod at 1:59.

See you in the parking lot.
