This indie videogame made by 2D is availble for download on PC and MAC and the even sexier Wii from Wiiware download. At $15 dollars this is a must have. Connecting the goo balls to make structuers save the goos. The simplicity and music really bring this game full circle.

the bright bike

Bright Bike from Michael Mandiberg on Vimeo.

pretty simple and genius.  make the entire bike a reflector.  my only question is if it looks as reflective in real life i know sometimes the camera adds 10 pounds and also picks up lightwaves that the human eye normally wouldn’t.  however i think more visibility of riders is better. safety first.

Introducing Super Obama World. A flash game that plays like the NES original Super Mario Brothers. The pixel graphics and sounds are rad super retro. Reminds me of when I was a kid and we would race home from school to play Double Dribble. Another waste your life away online game brought to you by whateves.

No word yet if Dig (Dug) Joe Biden, has been created yet.

In case your wondering you move your mouse and it reveals more of the young our old lady. Note the fine print “simulated imagery, results not typical”

An improved official PhoneSaber is soon to be released.  Including characters, music and a much requested mini game, Jar Jar’s voyage.  A game of precision and skill where the user must fully insert the lightsaber into Bink’s buttocks.  I’m sensing there’s going to be a bunch of boners over this one.  Keep checking the app store.

i am rich bitch (web app)

Posted by ktlau in Idiocracy, art, design, technology, whateves on August 11th, 2008 @ 12:38 am

for those of you who follow tech stuff and have an iphone probably know about the “i am rich” app. for those of you that dont here is a little bit of backstory. Last month the iphone opened its app store and started selling additonal apps to be downloaded to the phone. most apps sell for between .99 cents and 10 dollars with the maximum price going all the way up to $999.99. Then someone comes along and creates an app called “I am rich”.  the app cost the maximum $999.99 and its sole purpose is to let people know you can afford it.  you push the button on your screen and it just displays “graphic art”.  a poorley rendered image of a red jewl is displayed on your screen.  Thats it no more no less.  the discreption on the site states that that is all it does and there are no hidden features and what you see is what you get.  its a pure status symbol.  well a few pople actually bouth the app (i think 8 total) and some say the bought it by accident. enough people complained and apple pulled the app from the store.  the interesting thing about this is it places an artificial value on something that should for no other reason be free.  by saying someing is art dose it create an intrinsic value to it?  dose a name on a brand add value to an otherwise ordinary object?  in someway this reminds me of work of mathew barney who makes abstrcat sometimes creepy films wich can been seen easily but sells the origonal disks for hundreds of thousands of dollars.  there are tons of other examples of “fine art” artificially over priced just do to artist recognition. most people would call this a scam but if some one is willing to pay money for something does it not have the value that the free market is willing to spend?

well i decided to make a cheep chinatown rolex knock off version of the i am rich app.  this is the almost as good slightly less quality web app version complete with home screen icon. just go here (on an iphone) to see the beautiful glowing red jewel and click the plus button and select the add to home screen button to get quick and easy access image.  impress your friends with your almost as good as the reel thing version of the $999.99 iphone application.

Ever since I was a little kid and saw Back To The Future I wanted one of these… even if it was a prop. Now all I need is $30k and its all mine! Have I mentioned that my neighbor down the street has a Delorean, he keeps it covered just like Doc. Brown did in his laborty in Pine Valley.

Now all I need is to find a self drying jacket and I’m the happiest boy in the world.

comments were broken

dear patrons,

The other day while we were updating the site it seams that the spam plugin broke and made it so people couldn’t post comments.  We apologize for the inconvenience and have  disabled it for now. We will be addressing the issue later this weekend.  This means two things. One there might be  a little more spam in the comments then normal and two expect to have to type in that annoying word before you can post comments again in the near future. (its the lesser of two evils)

Thank you for your patients,
the management

polaroid is trying to soften the blow…

Posted by nat the brat in technology on July 25th, 2008 @ 8:42 am

As most of us know Polaroid is discontinuing the instant film we all LOVE in 2009…today I found their replacement product, its not as cool but it’ll do!

its a portable printer, you can send images from your blue tooth enabled cell phone or from your digital camera with a USB cable. It prints out 2″x3″ sticky back prints…the printer itself cost $150.00 and packs of paper cost $37.99, you get 20 prints from each pack…so it cost about the same per picture as the current polaroid film…
