I’m an Ebay addict and I love to find crazy shit that people are auctioning off.  Yesterday I happened upon my friend’s RV, named The Box.  It’s not just any RV.  The Box is every teenager’s when-I-get-my-license fantasy in the flesh.  A true party RV with custom paint by some of LA’s best graffiti artists including a few of my personal faves: Cache, Eyer, and Unit LOD.  The Box lives forever in Los Angeles infamy from being the official support vehicle of the completely-out-of-control bike party/ride C.R.A.N.K. MOB.  I’m sad to see it go but hopefully whoever wins it won’t paint it over.

pretty simple and genius.  make the entire bike a reflector.  my only question is if it looks as reflective in real life i know sometimes the camera adds 10 pounds and also picks up lightwaves that the human eye normally wouldn’t.  however i think more visibility of riders is better. safety first.

Tonight we will be rolling to the All Star Lanes in Eagle Rock to get our Karaoke and bowling on! Come out and join us! Some people without bikes are driving out and meeting us there to join in the festivities. Come either way! The riders will probably get there between 10 and 10:30pm.

new to echo park: we welcome echo park cycles. located at 1932 echo park blvd. echo park cycles is going to be a full service and sales bike shop. the tiny shop tucked in away among houses of echo park is prepping for its grand opening. i had a quick chat with one of they guys there and it seams like its going to be a nice addition to the neighborhood. the shop is currently open for repairs as they are stocking their inventory. they plan on having a grand opening bbq on 8/23 so if you are in the area stop by and help support this local shop.

If you don’t have any 4th Of July plans sorted out yet, we’re hosting a pool party/bbq/bike ride on the Westside.

Pool party/BBQ is at 12606 Woodbine St. in Mar Vista (near Centinela & Palms) and starts around 2pm.  Please RSVP if you want to attend.  Bring something to throw on the grill and some refreshing beverages.  Don’t forget your sunscreen.
At 8pm sharp, we’ll be riding into Marina Del Rey to see a close-up view of the fireworks show.  No RSVP necessary if you just want to ride, just get there before 8pm.

Then after the fireworks, we’ll be crashing some block parties in the street and Los Angeles bike band/performance art duo Funderstorm will be playing one last show before setting off on a coast-to-coast tour on bicycles.

Last night we didn’t get enough riders to have a proper capture the flag game, it was cold and people were tired and working and in Europe, but when we get enough, we will capture that flag. Last night we took a lazy ride down to downtown, jetted over to Olvera street to meet up with Billy. The street was all closed down and smelled like jizz. We then headed over to China town to check out Transmission, which if you show up on your bike you get in free. They soon hated us cause we’re all on bikes and no one had to pay and there was no one else in there. OOPS. We took some pictures on the floor, got a dirty beer, saved people from the pee pee floor rape room upstairs and headed to Mtn. Washington to Footsies and Billy’s House so he could show us his Antique road show Flag with metal tassels.(i forgot to take a picture) After Footsies, we pouneded some Porno Burritos and Potato Tacos. It was goooood.

Last night Whereeves Bike Ride was bumpin’. We had record numbers show up, over 20 peeps showed and we peddled down to Hollywood. Right in the middle of tourist hell, there is a Snow White Bar. The whole inside is Disney style renderings of snow white and the dwarfs. The beer there is HUGE, and its meant to make you feel like a dwarf.

Poor Ktlau got a flat, Billy offered to carry Ktlau’s bike on his back, it was some serious dedication to the ride.

But, ktlau took the bus home. Hope he made it home ok.

After that we took a turn for a more classy refined place to hoot and holla, Jumbos Clown Room.
